Our community and environment

Our business is in a very beautiful part of the country, we are committed to playing our part in keeping it that way. On the edge of the North York Moors National Park we don't have the benefits of a huge labour pool to draw from so we are committed to continuously developing our staff and stakeholders - this is reflected by our Investors In People Gold Award.
We think that any form of waste is an enemy of our business, so we always look to reduce our energy usage and waste wherever we can.

We are also carrying out print trials on differing environmentally-friendly substrates as alternatives to the current materials such as High Impact Polystyrene, Polypropylene and PVC which are petroleum-based products. Currently under trial are bio-degradable substrates (i.e. materials which degrade completely when deposited in land-fill) which comply with BS EN 13432. We are also looking at oxo-degradable substrates which degrade when exposed to light, humidity, heat and air but which do leave trace elements of cobalt, manganese, iron and zinc. Oxo-degradable products do not conform to BS EN 13432, but a more competitively priced – it is a case of matching the correct product with the price the customer is prepared to pay.
